A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney for its New York City office. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in energy project development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and project finance transactions, particularly involving renewable power and energy transition initiatives. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will handle a variety of responsibilities related to energy project transactions, including drafting primary deal documents, managing complex diligence, and interacting with clients. The role requires expertise in energy regulatory matters, project real property, permitting requirements, and commercial agreements.

 

Duties:

  • Lead transactional activities related to energy project development, M&A, and project finance
  • Draft primary deal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements, financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Manage complex due diligence processes
  • Coordinate with internal specialist teams and junior associates
  • Interact with clients and provide high-quality work product
  • Stay updated on energy regulatory developments and industry trends

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in the project development and finance group of a law firm
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters and commercial agreements
  • Strong team orientation and ability to handle significant responsibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, busy practice environment

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars
