Job Overview: A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a seasoned Litigation and Counseling Labor and Employment Law Associate Attorney to represent employers in various legal proceedings and provide expert counsel on various employment-related matters.
Job Details:
Representing employers in state and federal court and administrative agencies on claims related to wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and other employment issues.
Counseling employers on hiring, firing, reductions in force, workplace performance and discipline, statutory leaves, disability, and other accommodations.
Performing legal research, and drafting legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings.
Attending court conferences, and handling discovery-related activities (including e-discovery) and investigations.
Drafting position statements, employment and separation agreements, employer handbooks, and policies.
Providing advice to business clients on a diverse array of employment issues.
Requirements:
5-7 years of legal and litigation experience, with at least 3 years specifically in employment law.
. degree and membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar (or a member in good standing in another state to join the Massachusetts Bar).
A strong academic background.
Excellent writing, analytical, oral advocacy, and litigation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Capability to manage legal matters independently and proactively.
Experience representing clients before state and federal agencies, courts, or tribunals.
Ability to advise and instill confidence in sophisticated business clients.
