A law firm in Knoxville is seeking an Associate Attorney with preferred experience in the personal injury field, either plaintiff or defense, to join their team. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for meeting with potential new clients, handling phone calls from various agencies and clients, and effectively managing support staff. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in litigation, depositions, mediation, and court appearances.

 

Duties:

  • Meet with potential new clients to assess legal needs
  • Handle phone calls from various agencies, clients, court personnel, adjusters, and attorneys
  • Work effectively in a team environment and manage support staff
  • Utilize effective time management and multitasking skills while remaining courteous and responsive to clients
  • Conduct litigation tasks, including depositions, mediations, and court appearances
  • Research legal issues and prepare legal documents as necessary

 

Requirements:

  • Preferred 2+ years of legal experience in the personal injury field, either plaintiff or defense
  • Active Tennessee law license with a strong knowledge of Tennessee state law and statutes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Active Tennessee law license

 

Skills:

  • Experience in personal injury litigation, including depositions, mediations, and court appearances
  • Strong knowledge of Tennessee state law and statutes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
