We are currently looking for an Associate Corporate Counsel to join our Market Agreements team in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time position, with the opportunity to work with a dynamic legal department and collaborate with various departments in the company.

As an Associate Corporate Counsel, you will primarily be responsible for managing contractual relationships with our trading partners. This includes drafting, negotiating, and implementing a variety of transactional agreements on behalf of our internal clients. You will also have the opportunity to work on complex commercial transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, and provide support to our senior attorneys.

We are looking for someone with excellent legal, analytical, and negotiating skills, as well as exceptional communication and project management abilities. You must have a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction. Preference will be given to candidates with 2-5 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with a background in insurance and/or contract law.

Job Responsibilities:

- Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial and transactional agreements with trading partners.
- Provide support to senior attorneys in complex commercial transactions.
- Collaborate with various departments to help achieve strategic objectives.
- Conduct legal and factual research, and data analysis and reporting as requested.
- Ensure legal and operational compliance of the company's market partners.
- Utilize contract management software to manage agreements and related tasks.
- Identify and assess legal and business risks to the company.
- Communicate relevant information to business leaders and executives.
- Uphold the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Perform other relevant duties as requested by senior attorneys and executives.

Requirements:

- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
- 2-5 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with preference for insurance and/or contract experience.
- Excellent legal, analytical, and negotiating skills.
- Exceptional communication, project management, and organizational abilities.
- Able to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Able to identify and articulate client/colleague needs and work through complex problems.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Able to prioritize tasks and projects and effectively manage time on own.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, insurance transactions, and practices preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with contract management software and/or technology using workflow preferred.
- Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
- Critical attention to detail.
- Proven track record of being a team player.
