A law firm is seeking a Trust and Estates Associate Attorney for their Naples office. The ideal candidate must be experienced in the administration of complex estates and trusts, tax planning, and business succession planning for sophisticated and high-net-worth clients. They should have a strong understanding and experience in researching, analyzing, and drafting documents for the implementation of estate and gift plans, as well as other gift and transaction documents related to planning structures. Experience with the Florida Probate Code, Florida Trust Code, probate, and trust administrations is required. Knowledge of federal transfer tax rules and procedures, including the ability to prepare and review related tax returns, is essential. Familiarity with planning for family-owned businesses, life insurance structures, and charitable planning is desirable but not required. The candidate must possess excellent academic credentials (. preferred), strong drafting skills, and proficiency in research, writing, and communication. Admission to the Florida Bar is required.

 

Duties:

  • Administer complex estates and trusts.
  • Conduct tax and business succession planning for high net-worth clients.
  • Research, analyze, and draft documents for estate and gift plans.
  • Handle probate and trust administrations.
  • Prepare and review federal estate and gift tax returns.
  • Plan for family-owned businesses and life insurance structures (ideal but not required).
  • Engage in charitable planning, including split-interest trusts and private foundations (ideal).
  • Collaborate with clients and senior attorneys to develop and implement comprehensive estate plans.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of estate and trust administration.
  • Knowledge of federal transfer tax rules and procedures.
  • Excellent academic credentials (. preferred).
  • Strong drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in research, writing, and communication.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
