A law firm in New York City is seeking a Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience handling bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation (including mortgage foreclosure litigation), and other creditors’ rights matters. Strong academic background, excellent writing skills, and admission to practice in New York and New Jersey are required for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Handle bankruptcy litigation cases, representing creditors or debtors in court proceedings.
  • Manage commercial litigation matters, including mortgage foreclosure litigation, from initiation to resolution.
  • Represent clients in creditors’ rights matters both in and out of court.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on bankruptcy and commercial litigation issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on case strategy and management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.
  • Stay informed about developments in bankruptcy law and commercial litigation practices.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
  • Admission to practice law in New York.
  • Strong academic background with a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in New York.
