Introduction:
- Queens Legal Services (QLS) is seeking interns for Summer 2024
- QLS fights poverty and seeks racial, social, and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers through the provision of civil legal services and other advocacy
- Part of Legal Services NYC, the nation’s largest civil legal aid provider
- Currently accepting intern applications for Summer 2024 in various programs

Responsibilities:
- Assist with activities such as conducting client interviews, investigating cases, appearing in court and administrative proceedings with attorneys, legal research, and writing memoranda of law
- Work closely with community partners and provide Know Your Rights clinics, workshops, and legal education programs

Programs Available:
- LGBTQ/HIV Project: provides advice and direct legal representation to members of the LGBTQ+ community and people living with HIV/AIDS in a wide range of civil practice areas, including public benefits, anti-discrimination, housing, family law, and access to medical care
