A law firm in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Cyber/Data/Privacy Associate Attorney or Special Counsel with a high level of academic achievement, the ability to engage directly with clients, lead significant projects, possess general tech fluency, and demonstrate impeccable analytical and writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Engage directly with clients and lead significant projects related to cyber, data, and privacy matters.
  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory investigations and litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies).
  • Defend against data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, and allegations of unfair and deceptive trade practices.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and advise on risk management strategies.
  • Stay abreast of evolving laws and regulations related to cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy.

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues.
  • Expertise in defending data privacy and security class actions.
  • High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
  • General tech fluency.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from a nationally recognized law school.

 

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in cybersecurity, data protection, or privacy (preferred but not mandatory).

 

Skills:

  • Impeccable analytical and writing skills.
  • Ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects.
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
