A law firm in Roseland, NJ, is seeking an Associate Attorney to manage their own caseload under the oversight of partners. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience representing architects and engineers and handling complex construction claims. They should possess superior written and oral communication skills, be familiar with the NJ & NY Civil Court Rules, and be self-starters.

Duties:

• Manage own caseload with oversight by partners.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and mediations.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend inspections and consult with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for trials, including trial preparation and actual trials.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience representing architects and engineers and handling complex construction claims.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with NJ & NY Civil Court Rules.
• Self-starter with good organizational skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (preferred).

Skills:

• Experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage own caseload and work under the oversight of partners.
