Hawthorne office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an insurance coverage attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience, including some substantive involvement with insurance coverage issues. The candidate will assist in the analysis of insurance policies and application of contractual wording to claim facts in the areas of general liability (torts), construction defect, product liability, environmental, employment practices, first-party (automotive and homeowners), professional liability, and more. Will having the ability to pinpoint issues and research the law in multiple jurisdictions is crucial, as is the desire and ability to analyze complex fact patterns and generate clear, concise written work product. Be expected to generate detailed reports, opinion letters, and correspondence, as well as litigation work product (pleadings and motions, discovery, and appeals), largely in the area of declaratory judgment practice. Approximately 25 percent of the work relates to the direct defense of underlying tort cases, primarily premises liability and automotive. Have opportunities to appear at case management conferences, mediations, pre-trial settlement conferences, and depositions. Prepare opinion letters, reports, and substantive correspondence. Draft motions, discovery demands, and responses. Handle court appearances and depositions. Communicate with clients and provide status reports. Must be Admitted to practice in New York State and Federal Courts. Some familiarity with federal practice is preferred.
