Duties:

  • Prepare oppositions to objections to claims.
  • Review and interpret various legal and non-legal documents, including deeds of trusts, notes, assignments, property titles, dockets, and pleadings.
  • Respond to court notifications and inquiries from clients, debtors, and debtors' attorneys.
  • Make court appearances and represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Conduct case law research to support legal strategies.
  • Handle all aspects of creditor representation with minimal or no supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and effective communication.
  • Organize and manage caseload efficiently.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of bankruptcy experience representing creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters.
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing in New York and all federal bankruptcy courts.
  • Admission to practice in other states is a plus.
  • Experience in drafting pleadings, making court appearances, and conducting case law research.
  • Proficiency in handling creditor representations independently.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in New York and all federal bankruptcy courts.
  • Admission to practice in other states (preferred).
