A law firm is seeking an Elder Law Associate Attorney in Lake Success, NY. The Elder Law Associate Attorney will provide counsel on asset protection, Medicaid spend-down strategies, and estate planning matters. They will prepare legal documents and represent clients in court proceedings related to estates and guardianships.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on asset protection and Medicaid spend-down strategies
  • Prepare Medicaid applications and supporting documentation
  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives
  • Attend court appearances for estate and guardianship proceedings
  • Supervise paralegals
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a commitment to professional growth
  • Utilize experience in estate planning, Medicaid planning, and guardianship matters

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in New York
  • Familiarity with various legal documents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Experience:

5-10 years of experience in elder law, estate planning, and Medicaid planning preferred
