Bulleted Job Responsibilities:

- Provide expert advice and guidance on commercial and consumer bankruptcy matters
- Review and approve legal documents
- Partner with key internal stakeholders to implement legal strategies
- Manage, oversee, and advise on bankruptcy cases, including critical vendor bankruptcies
- Develop effective legal strategies to mitigate legal, operational, and financial risks
- Provide legal support to Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) bankruptcy and recovery operations
- Advise on bankruptcy legal issues and act as a trusted advisor to the business
- Ensure compliance with bankruptcy legal requirements
- Partner with business and corporate function groups to analyze changes in law and evaluate potential effects on business processes
- Review and revise business policies and procedures to ensure compliance with bankruptcy and other legal requirements

- Support CCB Litigation in handling contested bankruptcy matters
- Conduct comprehensive research on bankruptcy laws, regulations, and precedents

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of chapter 11 bankruptcy experience

- Compliance with all relevant licensing requirements
- Strong knowledge of complex bankruptcy legal framework
- Understanding of bankruptcy legal issues and regulatory requirements
- Ability to prioritize and interact effectively with senior management

Preferred Qualifications:

- Regulatory or compliance experience
- Experience working with bank regulators, bankruptcy trustees, or the Office of the United States Trustee
