A law firm in Portland is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will advise and represent clients in various areas of law including contract disputes, corporate finance and securities, professional liability, directors and officers claims, regulatory agency investigations, employment liability practice claims, fiduciary claims, and commercial disputes.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in commercial litigation matters.
  • Handle all phases of litigation with increasing responsibility for file management.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and review and propound discovery.
  • Manage case files, including organizing documents and appearing at hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Utilize excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare for trials and/or participate in trial proceedings.
  • Maintain strong organizational and time management skills, handling multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Oregon; Washington experience a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience handling civil litigation matters, preferably in a private law firm setting.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Demonstrated trial experience and/or trial preparation experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in Oregon.
