Director, Privacy & Data Protection - Exciting Opportunity with BDO


BDO, a leading global accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Director to join their thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with both domestic and international clients, providing global solutions for their data protection and privacy needs. The Director will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing new opportunities, managing project teams, and ensuring quality work product for clients. This is an exciting position for a professional with a passion for privacy and data protection.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies to client C-suite/board
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information to clients on various domestic and global privacy laws
- Establish new relationships to drive new opportunities for BDO
- Ensure compliance with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
- Manage and maintain relationships with client professionals and introduce other BDO professionals
- Ensure timely, thoughtful responses to client inquiries
- Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events
- Develop proposals, respond to RFP/RFIs, and manage Master Service Agreements and engagement letters
- Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans and provide regular updates
- Mentor team members and ensure consistent quality work product throughout engagements
- Manage multiple large, complex, and long-term engagements and clients
- Act as a leader and maintain a professional, positive attitude towards clients and firm personnel
- Support Data Protection Officer for clients, as needed
- Develop and manage project budgets and review invoices for consistency
- Act as a mentor to team members
- Supervise the workload of assigned team members

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Master's or other advanced degree preferred
- Ten or more years of consulting experience required
- Three or more years of data protection or privacy experience required
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- Five or more years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required
- One or more privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE) required
- Experience with privacy enabled technology solutions (OneTrust, TrustArc) preferred

Skills and Abilities:

- Executive presence with the ability to act as primary ,000
- Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
