Summer Legal Internship with Alliance for Children’s Rights Are you a current law student with a desire to make a difference in the lives of foster youth and their caregivers? Look no further! The Alliance for Children’s Rights is offering a 10-week, full-time legal internship in our Los Angeles office for the summer. Gain valuable experience while supporting the work of one of our departments - Adoption, Benefits, Education, Guardianship, Policy, Transition Age Youth Services, or Healthcare Program. Responsibilities: - Conducting client intake interviews - Analyzing and assessing client needs - Working with attorneys to determine legal assistance needed - Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents - Attending court proceedings - Developing resource and educational materials for clients Qualifications: - - Desire to work with foster youth and their caregivers - Ability to work efficiently, independently, and with attention to detail - Ability to work full time (Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm) in our Los Angeles office for 10 weeks (unpaid) - Spanish fluency preferred for all programs, but required for Adoption and Guardianship programs Overview: The Alliance for Children’s Rights is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights and improving the lives of foster youth and their caregivers. Our summer internships offer law students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of legal areas, while making a positive impact in the community.
