A law firm in New York City is actively seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-6 years of experience in patent litigation. The ideal candidate should have a technical degree (., chemistry, biology, engineering, or pharmaceutics), or significant experience handling substantive patent issues with the ability to learn underlying pharmaceutical and/or biologic-related subject matter. The role requires admission to a State Bar (New York preferred), superior written and oral communication skills, the ability to work comfortably in a team atmosphere, and excellent academic credentials.

 

Duties:

  • Handle substantive patent issues related to various technical disciplines.
  • Learn and navigate pharmaceutical and/or biologic-related subject matter.
  • Represent clients in intellectual property litigation matters.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and motions for patent litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on patent laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and legal teams to develop effective litigation strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-6 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Technical degree (chemistry, biology, engineering, or pharmaceutics) strongly preferred.
  • Significant experience handling substantive patent issues is a plus.
  • Admission to a State Bar, with preference for New York.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to a State Bar, preferably in New York.

 

Skills:

  • Substantive knowledge of patent litigation.
