Litigation Attorney The candidate will independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end, staying on top of deadlines with a large number of active matters. Will regularly handle court appearances, mediations, and depositions. Communicate with clients and provide litigation strategy, counsel, and updates. Research for, draft and oversee the filing of pleadings and motion papers. Manage discovery process, including taking and defending depositions. Motion practice, including experience researching and drafting legal briefs, working on and arguing various law and motion matters in court, as well as trial preparation and trial appearance. Conduct regular meetings with litigation practice group regarding active matters, including case updates, litigation strategy and next steps. Autonomy to manage own caseload under the supervision of either a senior attorney or partner.
Qualification and Experience The candidate should have Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Must have 2-5 years of civil litigation experience, with significant experience in the areas described in the “duties and responsibilities” section above. Excellent writing, critical thinking, and time management skills are required. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a supportive, positive, and team-oriented attitude. Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado or be eligible to become licensed.
