A law firm in Portland is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney with preferably 2-5 years of experience in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases representing lenders and creditors. The candidate will be responsible for representing creditors in bankruptcy matters, attending court hearings, preparing various legal documents, and managing an assigned caseload. Strong communication skills, proficiency in software tools, and prior bankruptcy experience are preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Represent creditors in bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases.
  • Prepare various legal documents, including Motions, Objections to Plan, Payment Change Notices, Fee Notices, and Orders.
  • Attend court hearings associated with representation of clients in bankruptcy matters.
  • Manage assigned caseload to meet goals and client expectations.
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with other attorneys and staff to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Oregon Bar or the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Oregon, and in good standing.
  • Preferably 2-5 years of bankruptcy experience representing lenders and creditors.
  • Proficiency with numbers and basic accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Oregon State Bar or the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Oregon, and in good standing.

 

Skills:

  • Prior bankruptcy experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage caseload efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Proficiency in software tools for legal research and document preparation.
