Job Details:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents related to residential real estate disputes.
  • Conduct issue-specific research tasks and prepare detailed memoranda reflecting the results.
  • Review and analyze documents received from clients and other parties to assess their importance to claims and defenses.
  • Interact with clients, court personnel, and witnesses throughout the litigation process.
  • Assist in the preparation for and actively participate in court hearings, depositions, and trial work.
  • Review agreements with homebuyers and developers to ensure legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior-level attorneys, paralegals, and staff members in representing real estate and construction-related entities and individuals in both litigation and non-litigation matters.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience as an attorney in general litigation matters.
  • Experience with residential construction litigation is preferred.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, utilizing legal research databases and other resources.
  • Court hearing, deposition, and trial work/experience is preferred.
  • Experience handling discovery matters, including propounding and responding to requests and with ESI.
  • MD Bar license required; VA and/or DC Bar license a plus.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook is required; experience with Excel and iManage is a plus.
