A law firm is seeking a Junior Disability Associate Attorney for their Social Security Disability practice in Austin, TX. The successful candidate will represent clients in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges, with hearings comprising approximately half to two-thirds of their time. Key responsibilities include:

  • Representing clients in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges.
  • Answering client questions and providing support throughout the disability claims process.
  • Reviewing and developing pre-hearing and hearing level cases.
  • Conducting legal research and writing pre-hearing brief memorandums for disability hearings.
  • Drafting appeals council briefs.
  • Regular client contact, primarily via telephone, but also in person, by mail, and email.
  • Ability to travel to and from hearings in other cities and states up to 70% of the time.

Requirements:

  • Attorney License.
  • Reliability and Dependability.
  • Eagerness to Learn and Make a Difference.
  • Strong Communication Skills, Both Oral and Written.
  • Excellent Legal Writing Skills.
  • Knowledge of Social Security Disability Law is preferred.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission by waiver.
