A law firm in Rochester, NY is seeking a Chemistry Patent Agent with 4+ years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution. The candidate will assist in preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), conduct prior art searches, draft opinions on patentability, and interface with inventors and engineers. Superior writing skills, admission to practice before the USPTO, and a strong technical background in Chemistry or a related field are required.

Duties:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
• Conduct prior art searches and draft opinions on patentability and clearance.
• Interface with inventors, engineers, and other client stakeholders.
• Support internal teams on various intellectual property matters.
• Maintain high standards of performance and attention to detail.
• Utilize computer-assisted legal resources for research and drafting.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other patent professionals on case strategy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or similar technical background.
• 4+ years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution.
