A law firm is seeking a Worker's Compensation Attorney with proficiency in Spanish for their Scotch Plains, NJ office. The ideal candidate will handle workers' compensation cases and provide legal counsel to clients in both English and Spanish.

Job Overview: The Worker's Compensation Attorney will represent clients in workers' compensation proceedings, negotiate settlements, and provide legal advice on workers' compensation laws and regulations. They will communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies, ensuring effective representation and resolution of cases.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation hearings, trials, and appeals
  • Conduct legal research on workers' compensation laws and regulations
  • Prepare legal documents, including petitions, briefs, and settlement agreements
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance companies
  • Advise clients on their rights and responsibilities under workers' compensation laws
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on their cases
  • Attend depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar
  • Experience practicing workers' compensation law
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of relevant legal software and research tools

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar
  • Any additional certifications related to workers' compensation law (preferred)
