Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Trust and Estates Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients on intricate estate planning matters. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in advanced trust planning, wealth preservation strategies, and various tax-related strategies.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex estate planning matters, including advanced trust planning, wealth preservation strategies, and gift and estate tax strategies.
  • Handle estate and trust administration, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and efficient execution of plans.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to trusts, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, charitable remainder and lead trusts, and grantor-retained annuity trusts.
  • Guide fiduciary income taxation and closely held business ownership succession planning and taxation.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop customized estate plans tailored to their needs and objectives.
  • Represent clients in estate planning and trust administration matters, including negotiations, settlements, and litigation if necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in Ohio.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience practicing law, focusing on trust and estates.
  • Proven track record of handling complex estate planning matters and providing strategic advice to high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws related to estate planning and trust administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar in Ohio.
