Job Overview: A law firm in Fresno, CA, is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to provide legal counsel and representation to clients facing criminal charges. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate, active Bar admission (or awaiting admission), and a demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their case
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice on case strategies
• Manage court appearances trials, draft motions, and conduct legal research
• Analyze probable case outcomes based on legal precedents
• Manage the workload of cases effectively
• Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits
• Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge prosecution charges
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts
• Collaborate with fellow associates to strategize and support case objectives

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Active Bar admission (or awaiting admission)
• Demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law through internships, volunteer work, or law school clinics
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload
• Experience with Case Management Software preferred

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered)
