Corporate Counsel I - Legal Support for Business Divisions - Salary Range: $119,850-$146,850

- Responsible for providing legal and business support to one or more business divisions, strategic business units, or corporate functions.
- Supports management of global trademark portfolio, including prosecution, maintenance, clearances, and oppositions.
- Drafts rules for promotions and provides counsel for various marketing matters.
- Negotiates and drafts contracts for business divisions or functions.
- Conducts legal research and analysis.
- Consults with and advises internal clients.
- Assists with general legal functions such as investigations and serving as a liaison.
- Requires basic level contract review, drafting, and negotiation experience.
- Works closely with manager, paralegals, and senior attorneys.
- Reports directly to Senior Counsel-IP.
- Manages legal and business risk.
- Reviews, drafts, and negotiates various agreements.
- Prepares and files documents for global trademark prosecution.
- Conducts global trademark searches and counsels clients on trademark matters.
- Drafts and responds to cease and desist letters.
- Assists with brand enforcement and oppositions.
- Works with local and foreign associates.
- Drafts and negotiates marketing agreements.
- Provides legal advice on a broad range of topics.
- Supports teams charged with generating business.
- Assists with corporate and other legal matters.
- Addresses legal risks and communicates to senior legal colleagues.
- Collaborates with legal and compliance staff.
- Contributes to development of innovative ways to scale commercial legal processes.
- Requires a Juris Doctor and admission to practice law in the United States.
- 3+ years of relevant experience and a law degree from law school.
- Operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Influencing and communicating skills.
- Commercial awareness and effectiveness.
- California attorney license preferred.
- Experience with managing a global trademark portfolio preferred.
- Experience with advertising and marketing issues preferred.
- Previous in-house experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work remotely.
- Must pass background investigation and drug screen.
