A law firm in Somerville, NJ, is seeking a dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel and representation to clients facing sensitive family law issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge base in family law, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex legal matters with compassion and professionalism.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in family law matters, including child custody, divorce, child abuse, and domestic violence cases.
  • Perform legal research and analysis to support case strategy and legal arguments.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, briefs, motions, and other necessary filings.
  • Prepare for and attend legal proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Negotiate on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes and settlements.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records and case files.
  • Collaborate closely with administrative staff, colleagues, and senior partners to deliver excellent legal services.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in New Jersey.
  • 3+ years of experience practicing family law.
  • Strong knowledge base and experience representing clients in family law matters.
  • Highly developed organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with MS Office 365.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of New Jersey.
