Duties:

  • Assist clients with estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in elder law matters, including Medicaid planning and long-term care planning.
  • Handle special needs planning, including establishing special needs trusts and advocating for disabled individuals.
  • Assist with trust administration, including trust funding, asset management, and beneficiary distributions.
  • Represent clients in general probate proceedings, including estate administration and probate litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on estate planning and probate issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other parties involved in legal matters.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, agreements, and court filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning and probate laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in estate planning, elder law, or probate.
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Michigan or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
