We are looking for a Corporate Counsel with experience in litigation and intellectual property to join our team and help us continue to create something extraordinary. Responsibilities: - Manage the company’s worldwide litigation and IP portfolio, directing outside counsel in accordance with business objectives - Oversee management of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and domain names for Brooks and its subsidiaries - Protect the company’s brands through trademark portfolio management, anti-counterfeiting measures, and domain name enforcement - Define and implement the company’s litigation strategy for various disputes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk - Manage an IP Paralegal to ensure seamless execution of intellectual property and marketing programs and initiatives - Budget and track spend for all litigation and trademark matters - Work cross-functionally to support litigation efforts and advise business leaders on legal and business risks - Act as the company liaison to outside counsel teams - Manage litigation proceedings, including attending mediations and hearings - Draft, negotiate, finalize, and track settlement agreements - Provide legal advice and counsel to front-line customer service, events, and retail teams - Manage pre-litigation disputes and respond to third-party subpoenas and government inquiries - Act as liaison between outside patent counsel and in-house teams - Identify opportunities to streamline processes for supporting internal clients - Provide counsel to product teams regarding potential new business models and opportunities - Manage and support the career development of IP Paralegal - Stay informed about the latest IP and litigation trends and techniques Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school - Admitted to the Washington State bar or another state bar association - 7+ years of experience as a licensed attorney - Prior in-house and trademark experience a plus - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to evaluate and weigh legal and business issues effectively - Ability to explain complex legal situations clearly and concisely - Ability to present and communicate with confidence to key stakeholders and executives - Ability to achieve optimum legal and business outcomes in a timely manner Compensation: The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $142,253 - $227,605 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
