A law firm is seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney for its Newark, NJ, location. The Pre-Litigation Attorney will be responsible for all aspects of a personal injury case up to the filing of a complaint. This includes supervising and providing direction to a team of staff members, evaluating case merits, providing guidance to clients, conducting medical case reviews, research, legal analysis, negotiating settlements, and ensuring exceptional client representation and customer service. The candidate must hold a license in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and possess strong research, verbal, and written communication skills. Additionally, the ability to handle a large and active caseload, prioritize client representation, and demonstrate excellent investigator, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of personal injury cases up to the filing of a complaint.
  • Supervise and provide direction to a team of staff members.
  • Evaluate the merits of personal injury cases.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to clients.
  • Conduct medical case reviews.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Negotiate and authorize settlements in the pre-litigation stage.

 

Requirements:

  • License in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.
  • 2+ years of experience with client contact and/or negotiation experience.
  • Strong research, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a large and active caseload.
  • Prioritization of client representation and customer service.
  • Excellent investigator and problem-solving skills.
  • Formidable negotiation skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
