Description:

New Hampshire Public Defender is currently seeking to fill multiple vacancies for the position of Staff Attorney. As a public defender, you will have the opportunity to protect and defend the rights and dignity of your clients with courage, compassion, and competency. Our office is dedicated to providing high-quality representation while serving the unique needs of our indigent clients, including youth and adults.

Responsibilities:

- Effectively communicate with clients
- Identify and anticipate legal issues
- Write, edit, and review motions
- Make sound legal arguments in the courtroom
- Work independently and collaboratively

Caseload:

- Initially responsible for a smaller caseload of misdemeanor and youth cases
- Opportunity for growth with a full caseload of felonies, misdemeanors, delinquency matters, and other post-conviction matters within the first year of employment
- Co-counseling opportunities with experienced lawyers

Requirements:
