Job Summary

Comcast is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counsel to join our dynamic Legal Department's Privacy Office. In this role, you will provide legal counsel and subject matter expertise to support Comcast Cable's global privacy and information security program. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in a dynamic, international company and make a significant impact on our privacy and data protection practices.

Responsibilities

- Review, draft, and negotiate various types of agreements, including vendor/service provider agreements, customer agreements, data processing agreements, and data transfer agreements.
- Create and maintain form documentation for contracts, playbooks, and guidance to ensure compliance with privacy policies and legal obligations.
- Conduct training for employees and the transactional legal team on privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
- Educate other teams within the organization on implementing privacy requirements, such as GDPR, CCPA, and self-regulatory organizations.
- Provide legal counsel on privacy and data protection-related inquiries and facilitate compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
- Review and support the business on Privacy Impact Assessments and Records of Processing for new business initiatives involving personal information.
- Work independently with moderate supervision and carry out duties consistent with strategic plans and directives.
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion in all matters and maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

- 4-6 years of combined legal experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department, with a minimum of 4 years of privacy and data protection experience.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and CIPP certification.
- Member in good standing of PA state bar or ability to obtain full or limited in-house license in PA.
- Knowledge of . and EU privacy and information security laws, regulations, and standards.
- Experience with transactional law, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating privacy and data protection contract terms.
- Ability to identify areas for process improvement and create efficiencies.
- Experience conducting privacy impact assessments and advising on legal requirements.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent drafting, negotiating, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, management, and operations personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with high-quality results.
- Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to escalate matters and seek guidance when necessary.
- Ability to translate legal requirements into practical guidance and solutions.
- Willingness to travel.
