OPD is a highly respected organization that provides representation to indigent criminal defendants in Orleans Parish. They are seeking experienced Staff Attorneys to join their team and represent felony clients in the Trial Division. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Job Duties:
- Zealously represent clients in criminal proceedings
- Maintain a continuing duty to the client
- Counsel and secure legal services for clients
- Investigate and prepare assigned cases
- Assist OPD leadership and comply with legal standards and requirements

Essential Selection Criteria:
- A degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Commitment to working with clients in poverty and from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Familiarity with national standards of criminal defense performance
- Proficiency with word processor and legal research software
- Membership of Louisiana bar
