H1: Patent Counsel at GSK - Building Patent Strategies for Life Science Innovations H2: Join a Global Biopharmaceutical Company Dedicated to Making a Positive Impact on Patients' Lives - Draft and prosecute patent applications for a variety of life science products and technologies - Work with a diverse team of in-house and external patent attorneys and support staff - Provide legal support and counsel to R&D teams, including freedom-to-operate analysis and due diligence reporting - Collaborate with multiple departments within the company, including commercial, clinical, regulatory, and business development - Support litigation and other legal proceedings related to patents in the US and around the world - Opportunity for occasional business travel (less than 10% of working days) Basic Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in at least one US state - Bachelor's degree in a life science field - Admitted to practice in front of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) - 1+ years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or in-house patent department - Ability to work at one of GSK's locations in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or Maryland 2-3 days per week Preferred Qualifications: - Significant experience drafting patent applications for therapeutics and related processes - Advanced life science degree or 3+ years of experience working in a related field - Experience conducting freedom-to-operate assessments for commercial or developmental products - Comfort using technology to increase workplace efficiency - Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse, international team At GSK, we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential to our success in positively impacting global health.
