Look no further! Legal Services for Children (LSC) is seeking passionate and dedicated law student interns for the summer of 2024. As a non-profit organization, LSC provides free legal and social work services to children, adolescents, and young adults in need. Join our team and make a difference in the lives of those who require legal assistance to stabilize their lives and reach their full potential. Internship Duties: - Conducting intake interviews with callers to our agency's "warm line" - Assisting staff attorneys with direct representation, including client interviews, legal research and writing, drafting pleadings, and attending court hearings - Advocating for children through community presentations and outreach to underserved youth populations - Conducting research and assisting with other projects as needed Qualifications: - Completed at least one year of law school before the internship begins - Demonstrated commitment to the rights of children and interest in advocating for them - Well-organized, motivated, and able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment - Cultural competence and sensitivity - Available to work full-time for 10 weeks - Spanish language skills desired, but not required for non-immigration project areas - Spanish language fluency (written and oral) required for working on immigration projects Application Process: To be considered for this internship opportunity, please submit a cover letter and resume.
