## Job Opportunity: Assistant Attorney General in Antitrust Bureau

The Antitrust Bureau of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General is looking for an Assistant Attorney General to help enforce both state and federal antitrust laws on behalf of Illinois consumers, businesses, workers, and governmental entities. The Antitrust Bureau investigates and challenges anticompetitive mergers, price-fixing agreements, and other illegal practices that harm Illinois interests.

### Responsibilities

Assistant Attorneys General within the Antitrust Bureau will develop and file cases under state and federal antitrust laws. Antitrust attorneys will work on matters ranging from price-fixing and monopolization cases to investigation of anticompetitive mergers in a broad array of industries. An Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Bureau is responsible for, in collaboration with other Assistant Attorneys General in the Bureau, all aspects of the investigation and litigation of assigned cases, including investigative memoranda, pleadings, discovery, court appearances, witness interviews, depositions, mediations, settlements, and trial, and generally representing the interests of the People of the State of Illinois. Antitrust AAGs also have the opportunity to work closely with other state and federal antitrust enforcement agencies.

### Qualifications

Candidates must be licensed by the State of Illinois at the time of application. Candidates must have at least 3 years of post-graduate legal experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience, including trials, and a working knowledge of the substantive law of antitrust. Background in economics and mergers and acquisitions is a plus.

### Salary

Salaries start at $79,008 for candidates with the minimum three years of post-graduate legal experience and are commensurate with the number of years of practice as a licensed attorney.
