A law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney in Portland, OR:

Job Overview:

The Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney will primarily be responsible for file review, legal analysis, extensive research, and drafting legal documents of insurance claims and causes of action. They will represent clients in various legal proceedings, including court appearances, arbitrations, and depositions. The role requires strong analytical skills, legal acumen, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Duties:

  • Conduct file review and legal analysis of insurance claims and causes of action
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Maintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hours
  • Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests
  • Coordinate expert witness retention and collaboration
  • Assist in trial preparation and attend trials as necessary
  • May involve occasional travel

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in insurance coverage
  • . degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Oregon; admission in other states is a plus
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research abilities and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines
  • Prompt responsiveness to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Excellent client skills and telephone manner

Education & Certifications:
