Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional for a Tax Manager role in Deloitte's Business Tax Services practice.
- Responsible for providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industries.
- Work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, and have access to a network of specialists for support.

What You'll Do:

- Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.
- Advise clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, FTA (periods, methods & credits), tax provisions, tax compliance, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.

- Provides expertise to clients to gain a competitive advantage by integrating tax strategy into business operations.
- Work within individual risk profiles to optimize tax functions and take strategy to the next level.
- Assist with global tax challenges and transform tax department for greater impact and efficiency.
- Services range from tax planning to tax compliance, controversy and risk management, and specialized services.
- Relevant for public and private companies in various industries.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5+ years' experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Active accreditation in one of the following:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney.
- Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Solid understanding of accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740.
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience.
- Strong management experience.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communications skills.

Salary Information:

- The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
- The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
- At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
- A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,980 to $193,440.
- Eligible for participation in discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules.
