A law firm in Tampa, FL, seeks an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience to lead a team in a high-volume immigration firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and drafting responses to Requests for Evidence (RFE), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID), and appellate briefs.

Duties:

  • Lead a team in researching and drafting responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and appellate briefs.
  • Train a team of writers in written advocacy, research, and litigation skills.
  • Train and oversee support specialists working with clients to provide additional evidence.
  • Manage RFE response team to meet deadlines and improve response quality.
  • Implement and track KPIs to manage high volumes of work.
  • Track and identify trends in RFEs to improve processes.
  • Analyze USCIS communications, including RFEs, NOIDs, and denials.
  • Evaluate application materials and identify additional evidence.
  • Train the team in legal and factual research.
  • Review case submissions for attorney approval before submission.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission to practice law in a US state or territory.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience with emphasis on written advocacy.
  • Leadership/management experience.
  • Ideally, 1+ year experience as an immigration attorney.
  • Experience with various immigration applications is a plus.
  • Substantial legal research and drafting experience.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills are a plus.
  • Appellate background or heavy experience in drafting dispositive motions briefs.
  • Prior immigration experience is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Graduate of ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission to practice law in a state or territory of the US.

Skills:

  • Strong written advocacy and litigation skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
