Director, Privacy & Data Protection - BDO: Lead Global Strategies for Data Protection and Privacy

Job Summary:

- Join BDO's thriving Privacy & Data Protection Practice as a Director and lead global solutions for Fortune 500 clients
- Work with both domestic and international clients and professionals in an exciting position
- Responsible for maintaining existing client relationships, developing new relationships, and delivering quality work product
- Manage project teams and ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of services

Job Duties:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies for client C-suite/board
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information on domestic and global privacy laws
- Guide and advise team members on project budget and scheduling
- Establish new relationships to drive opportunities for BDO
- Comply with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
- Manage relationships with client professionals and introduce other BDO professionals
- Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries
- Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events
- Update customer relationship management and ensure appropriate pipeline reporting
- Review client executive reports and provide feedback
- Develop proposals and respond to RFP/RFI's
- Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans
- Participate in business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance meetings
- Proofread and edit executive reports
- Manage BDO client and BDO Partner expectations
- Mentor team members and ensure consistency in work product
- Manage multiple large, complex engagements and clients
- Manage client expectations and support in-person presentations
- Support Data Protection Officer for clients
- Develop and manage project budgets
- Act as a leader and maintain a positive attitude

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Bachelor's degree required, Master's or Juris Doctorate preferred
- 10+ years of consulting experience required
- 3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required
- One or more privacy certifications required
- Knowledge of privacy enabled technology solutions preferred
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of database systems preferred
- Multilingual capabilities preferred
- Executive presence with ability to act as primary contact
