# Job Title: Institutional Services Americas Legal Vice President and Counsel ## Overview: State Street is looking for an experienced attorney to provide legal advice and counsel to its asset servicing business in the Americas. This role is essential to the overall success of the company, providing legal support to one of the largest asset servicing businesses in the world. The successful candidate will draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, provide legal and regulatory advice to support changes to the business model, and act as a trusted adviser to the business units. ## Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including custody, fund administration, transfer agency, and trust agreements. - Advise business partners regarding laws and regulations governing insurance companies, ERISA vehicles, state and municipal retirement and benefit plans, registered mutual funds, private funds, trust companies, and separately managed accounts. - Provide legal and regulatory advice to support changes to State Street’s business model, including new products, services, and partnerships. - Work with internal legal, business, compliance, and risk colleagues to address corporate-wide initiatives. - Handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with careful legal analysis and attention to detail. - Exercise sound legal and business judgment in dealing with clients and colleagues. - Act as a trusted adviser to State Street business units. - Instruct and manage external counsel. ## Preferred Qualifications: - required. - 5+ years of experience in a law firm or equivalent experience in the financial services sector. - Strong negotiation skills. - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. - Ability to handle a high volume of work, manage time effectively and balance competing interests while ensuring good outcomes for the negotiating parties. ## Salary Range: $140,000 - $207,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
