A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Private Equity Resource Attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US private equity corporate/transactional practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with the M&A resource attorney and knowledge management team to assist with private equity (PE) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) data, experience input, and maintenance. The Private Equity Resource Attorney will play a vital role in supporting the PE group's knowledge management efforts, including document preparation, legal research, and staying updated on legal and regulatory developments. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and expertise in private equity and corporate transactions.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with PE and M&A data input and maintenance
  • Prepare drafts or revise template documents for the PE group
  • Curate and organize the PE group's forms, precedents, and know-how
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relative to PE practice and the firm's core industry verticals
  • Develop and maintain the internal landing page for the PE group
  • Coordinate with the legal education team to prepare content for associate training and firmwide training efforts
  • Collaborate with the PE/M&A marketing team on firm promotion and content creation
  • Work with quantitative analysts on matters specific to PE funds and transactions
  • Collaborate with resource attorneys in other practice groups on best practices and initiatives
  • Field day-to-day requests from attorneys for precedents, templates, and other resources
  • Contribute to resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation projects

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US PE corporate/transactional practice
  • Basic handle on private equity, including M&A, portfolio company management, partnership-based equity compensation, and M&A acquisition financing
  • Mastery of substantive areas of practice undertaken by the PE practice group
  • Knowledge of industries regularly advised by the firm

 

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills
  • Strong intellectual ability, interpersonal, and technical skills
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
