The Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) is seeking an experienced Attorney to join the Office of Child Support Enforcement. This is a full-time, exempt position with an anticipated starting salary of $56,039. The Attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research, writing legal documents, and providing legal assistance to the agency. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct legal research and analyze data and documentation related to agency's legal matters
• Prepare for potential mediation, litigation, conciliation agreement, or settlement by researching case law, state and federal laws
• Write legal briefs, motions, and other pleadings to support arguments in mediation/litigation process
• Analyze and interpret state and federal laws to determine impact on agency programs
• Advise agency management on legal issues and offer legal opinions on actions to resolve issues
• Represent the agency in legal proceedings in various settings and jurisdictions
• Occasional to frequent in-state travel and occasional out-of-state travel may be required

Qualifications:
• Law degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar
• Valid Arkansas driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of state and federal laws
• Familiarity with legal research and writing protocols
• Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply case law, state and federal statutes, legal precedents, and legislative intent
• Ability to provide legal guidance and technical assistance to agency management and staff
• Mediation/litigation experience
