A law firm is seeking a Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney for its office in Charleston. The Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling cases from inception through trial, providing strategic counsel to clients, and participating in various professional activities of the firm. The ideal candidate should possess strong advocacy skills, a proven record of academic achievement, and extensive experience in state and federal courts.

 

Duties:

  • Handle cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions, and taking and defending depositions.
  • Formulate and develop case strategy, advise clients on risk mitigation, and explore pre-suit resolution options.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw.
  • Participate in client intake, trial preparation, and other firm activities.
  • Manage the discovery process and supervise junior attorneys and staff members with document review projects.
  • Mediate and participate in AAA and other arbitration proceedings.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Portable book of business with $200,000.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Strong record of academic achievement and proven writing skills.
  • First or second chair trial experience preferable.
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.
  • Bachelor’s degree and . Degree.

 

Certifications:

Licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to handle litigation matters with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with drafting complex pleadings and motions.
  • Ability to argue discovery and dispositive motions.
