Signature: Date: Application for Law Student Internship Page 5 of 5 HR Form Rev May 2023 Organization: Office of the Attorney General Job Title: Law Student Intern Salary: Unpaid, academic credit available Experience: , 2nd or 3rd year preferred Overview: - The Office of the Attorney General is seeking law student interns for their Criminal and Capital Appeals Division. - This division represents and defends State prosecutions in all criminal appeals and handles death penalty litigation statewide. - This internship offers practical experience in a legal field and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work. - Interns must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week for a prescribed period. Requirements: - Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited ABA law school. - 2nd or 3rd year law students preferred. - Must be able to intern a minimum of 20 hours per week. - Documentation must be provided for participation in law school sponsored programs. Application Deadlines: - Summer: January 31 (extended to March 1 for 2024) - Fall: June 30 - Spring: September 30 Responsibilities: - Interns will assist with criminal appeals in the five state courts of appeal, Florida Supreme Court, and federal courts. - May also have the opportunity to work on death penalty litigation. - Interns must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
