This is a fully remote position that will work closely with our litigation practice group to support third-party subpoena requests and responses for a global DWT client. This position requires California bar admission and is ideal for attorneys with prior experience in-house from medium/large litigation firms or technology corporations who are seeking more flexible hours. As part of our collaborative team, you can expect to work closely with DWT attorneys and provide high-value legal services to our clients. This contract position is part-time, averaging 15-20 hours per week, with the potential for renewal on an ongoing, yearlong basis for successful candidates. You will join a team of other contract attorneys who have developed successful relationships with DWT attorneys and clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting, experience responding to and negotiating third-party subpoenas, and California bar admission. Scalable, high volume experience with an emphasis on representing large technology corporations is preferred. You must be available to work an average of 15 hours per week with flexibility to increase hours as needed. Strong negotiation and client-relationship building skills are required, as well as excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision. You must also be confident in managing deadlines and communicating effectively with clients about deadlines. Demonstrated success in both high volume programmatic legal matters and high-impact strategic complex litigation is expected. Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT's flexible attorney program, DWTSurge. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, ranging from $80 to $100 per hour based on experience and skill level. This is a non-benefitted role, but part-time contract attorneys may be eligible for 401(k) and paid sick leave.
