- New Hampshire Public Defender is seeking several Staff Attorneys to join our team.
- Our mission is to protect and defend the rights and dignity of our clients with courage, compassion, and competency.
- We are committed to providing high-quality representation to our indigent clients, with a focus on the unique needs of youth and adults.
- Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, the ability to anticipate legal issues, and the ability to make sound legal arguments in the courtroom.
- New hires will start with a smaller caseload of misdemeanor and youth cases, and will have opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the first year.

Responsibilities:

- Effectively communicate with clients and anticipate legal issues.
- Write, edit, and review motions.
- Make sound legal arguments in the courtroom.
- Work independently and collaboratively.
- Handle a caseload consisting of misdemeanors, felonies, and other post-conviction matters.
- Co-counsel with experienced lawyers.
- Participate in internal trainings and use digital case management systems for case files.
