The Oklahoma Health Care Authority is seeking a Deputy General Counsel III to join their Legal team in Oklahoma County. This full-time position offers an annual salary of $92,455 and provides the opportunity to work on a variety of legal issues in the healthcare industry.

As the Deputy General Counsel III, you will report to the General Counsel and provide legal advice to the agency and board. You will also represent the OHCA in administrative and judicial proceedings, as well as handle complex program issues within the Medicaid Program. In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend meetings and serve as a principal contact for legal advice and assistance to various administrative units within the agency.

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited Law School. You should also have a minimum of six years of experience in the practice of law and be an active member of the State Bar of Oklahoma. Preference may be given to candidates with senior level administrative experience at OHCA, legal experience at OHCA, and/or litigation experience.

In this role, your responsibilities will include analyzing and researching copyright, trademark, software, and related issues for the agency. You will also handle administrative and judicial proceedings, review and analyze contracts, and assist in coordinating referrals and investigative efforts with the Office of the Attorney General/Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Additionally, you will address contract bid issues, HIPAA and Open Records issues, and attend meetings with various interest groups to explain the Medicaid program.

This position may require travel on an as-needed basis. Physical demands include the ability to remain sitting for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer, as well as the ability to move or lift up to 15 pounds at various times. The work environment includes regular exposure to general office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, and copy machines.
