Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS. This is a global position that can be based in any of the Johnson & Johnson Innovation locations, including Beerse, Boston, London, New Brunswick, San Francisco, or Shanghai. The Senior Legal Counsel will primarily support the JLABS team on a variety of commercial agreements and transactions with external companies and institutions, as well as provide legal support for external collaborations and projects initiated by the wider Global External Innovation or JBD businesses. They will also work closely with the Global Head of JLABS and her leadership team, providing legal advice and participating in leadership meetings.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal support to the JLABS team on commercial agreements and transactions with external companies and institutions
- Manage relationships with external collaborators, suppliers, and outside counsel
- Draft agreements to support and implement the JLABS model
- Advise on legislation relevant to the JLABS model, including crowd sourcing contests called Quick Fire Challenges
- Work on external collaborations and projects initiated by the wider Global External Innovation or JBD businesses
- Participate in leadership meetings to provide legal support and advice to the Global Head of JLABS and her team

Qualifications:

- Law degree and license to practice as a lawyer in a J&J Innovation location
- Minimum of 10 years' legal experience at a top national or international law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience working for a Life Sciences company or advising clients in the Life Sciences industry preferred
- Ability to provide outstanding legal services to business partners, including senior executives, in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
- Experience working on cross-border transactions or in multiple jurisdictions is a plus
- Experience advising on contest rules and social media is a plus

Salary Information:

- Base pay range: $160,000-$276,000
- Highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs
- Eligible for an annual performance bonus at the Company's discretion
