A law firm based in Chicago, IL is seeking an Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney to support their practice representing and advising insurers across various coverage areas. The ideal candidate will possess experience in insurance coverage matters and be proficient in legal research, drafting, and case management. The Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney will play a key role in supporting the firm's practice representing insurers across a range of coverage types. They will be responsible for analyzing insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, conducting legal research, and managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

 

Duties:

  • Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and advise clients accordingly
  • Draft coverage opinions and legal memoranda
  • Conduct legal research on insurance coverage issues
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Respond to discovery requests and participate in the discovery process
  • Take and defend depositions as needed
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Communicate regularly with clients and colleagues regarding case progress
  • Assist with trial preparation and courtroom appearances as necessary
  • Stay updated on developments in insurance law and industry trends

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of Illinois or eligibility for admission on motion
